how when a brand new 38r is that much and proven... these had issues..

I usually have about 5 or so Garretts a year that dont make it past a Dyno test..... and they are usually $3000-$5000 units...fftopic

What were the said issues?

the center section couldnt hold up to abuse, or even daily driving, theres a reason they arent produced anymore.
