What does the injector builder have to do with your engine build? I'm coming into this story late.

Broken nozzle. I would be checking fuel pressure before I fired up that new block. Low lpf can cause cracked tips.

Well they are under warranty. Warranty does not state what is covered or not covered when there is failure.

Wackerjr I already stated I am not going to post where the injectors came from. Sorry but that is my decission at this time.

As for pictures, well not much to see besides a beat up piston and cylinder wall.

I do not think Jeremy necessarly wants you to name the builder but rather the source of the nozzles which is different.

Well Tom I have no clue where the builder got the parts. So I can not answer that question.


I have an aggreement at this time not to mention where the injectors came from or who built them.

IMO the warrenty would cover the injectors and only injector problems. I'm not saying your looking for handouts but I don't think it should or would extend anywhere past the injectors themselves.

But paper work should disclose this. If the warranty only covers injectors then it needs to be on paper with the injectors. But the warranty paper work says 1 year 12,000 miles. Does not state what is covered and what is not covered when an injector fails.


I am not looking for any hand outs at all. What I am looking for is fairness. The injector was about a month old when it failed. I am not blaming the person that built them, I am not blaming myself. Things happen, but when you say there is a warranty then it needs be clear and specific on what is covered and what is not covered.


At this time I am at a stand still til I am told what the company is willing to do to help me out on this.

Full Force Diesel were the ones that supplied the injectors. We have nothing to hide. The nozzles that were on those injectors were stock sized nozzles, not aftermarket. We have been in contact with Scott to help him in this situation. While the truck is down, we have requested to have the injectors be returned so we can inspect the nozzles. While they are at the shop, they will be re-nozzled with brand new nozzles just incase something might have happened to all of them. It will be hard to say if it was a weak nozzle or if air was getting into the system and creating a situation in which the nozzle was getting hit by the pintle much harder than normal. If air is in the fuel system, the pintle does not have enough cushion against the nozzle. If this happens, you pretty much have metal to metal contact.

But like I said, we have nothing to hide. Full Force Diesel were the ones that built them and Full Force Diesel will be there to help him with what every he might need.

Very cool.... Good to see guys stand up. I really dont know if its someone to blame as much as a failed part... parts fail sometimes. It happens. Good luck with the rebuild buddy. im sure you have already thought about it, but maybe sleeve cylinder 5? Then hone all the others and get over sized rings? That would save some cash.

Well forget the rebuild. Unless I was going to build it for specific use like competetion. It just is not. For one I can't find a shop near me to do the rebuild. The one shop I found with in a reasonable distance to drive to, wants close to the cost of a reman engine to do the machine work.

So I did put a deposit on an engine today. I found a 2001 7.3L ready to drop in for a good price.

I want to clarify something right now. In no way shape or form was I blaming anyone for this failure. I would like to say that Ryan and Full Force Diesel are standing behind there product.

Ryan and Full Force Diesel have been great to work with on this. They do stand behind there product. I am not blaming Ryan or Full Force Diesel for the failure. It is mechanical, mechanical things have failures. It may seem like I am blaming them but I am not at all.

I will recommend Ryan and Full Force Diesel to anyone.

That right there is why I bought my injectors from Full Force. Ryan answered all my questions professionally, quickly and in a way that made me feel like a valued customer. Hats off to Full Force Diesel and Cass.

Good plan. We know for a fact a solid bottom end will last a looooong time in a well maintained stock or even tuned truck. Take the opportunity to do all the PM you can afford while engine is out (LPOP, water pump, HPO o-rings, GP's, etc) and I think you'll get what you need.

Well the engine I found has 81,000 miles on it. That is like brand new compared to my 238,000 mile engine I had. But yes I plan on doing some pm to the engine and other things. I am right now looking at upgrading to the air dog fuel supply system. So even though I found a new engine, my truck won't be back on the road right away.

I need new exhaust, because I cut the old off with a saw zaw, new intake, because the one I have has been on the truck since I got it and I want to get the SB intake system, and there are a few other things too.

I found more about my truck tonight than I knew. MY HPOP was a remanufactured part. I bought the truck brand new in 2002 and never ever replaced the hpop. I bought it with zero miles on the truck. I just think it is wierd that there is replacement parts on what was a brand new engine when I bought it.

Yes it was Tom but not for anything to do with the engine. In fact I never had any major problems with the engine. Accept the stupid CPS which most of us all have dealt with.

The most major warranty work was at 5,000 miles the trans started puking fluid out of the front pump seal. Ford replaced the trans with one from the factory. They did not rebuild it and reinstall the original one. The other warranty work was oil pan oil leak. They replaced the oil pan on the truck. That was early to like around 25,000 miles.
