The carriers are interchangeable on either the smaller ringset or the larger ring set. Most parts between the two are interchangeable The 10.5 uses a larger ring gear but smaller pinion bearing which all can be swapped to make a hybrid with the old parts in the new housing and shouldered bolts holding the smaller ring gear in for more strength.
