Does the paint match perfectly in person? It looks a bit like you can tell where the transition is because the black from excursion underneath has given the red a darker look? I don't know but that's how it looks on photos?

I'm seeing this too. Maybe it's the shade?

Hmm. I saw that, but figured it was a dark object in the reflection. That would definitely be a drag if there wasn't enough base coat.

It's the black underneath I'd say :-(

Yea, I agree with others its looks top notch... But I am worried the black affected how the color came out/it needed more coats of red. I thought it was a reflection thing too but on picture has the parts of the same reflection on both doors and the rear appears darker.

is it just me or is the rear axle closer to the front of the wheel well?

Love it. You got mad skills. With all that custom work, I would have went ahead and base coated and sprayed the whole thing. That's too good of work to skimp on paint. Bedline the tan area and around the rear wheel well, you'll never be able to tell the difference.

Funny how we nit pick the finished product, yet wish we had the fabrication skills...

Not nitpicking, just voicing an observation that could potentially help. The amount of craftsmanship that has gone into this is extraordinary, and the owner likely has a lot invested as well. That said, nothing ever goes perfect, and if the paint isnt just an optical illusion created by the picture, then its best to know about it than not.

I was thinking the same thing, seems like too much work to not paint the entire thing, plus all the work blending and trying to match the factory paint job.

4 heavy coats of base coat. Looks lot better in person. It is shadowing from the things behind it. There will be the factory 12 Flare and a rear rocker molding from the 05 EX that will bump the flare all painted to match.

Sprayed tinted the third brake light, installed LED bulbs in the third brake light, bought new LED tail lights, installed the roof rack, started molding the rear fender flares.
