I know what you meant. The manual will cause him to lose long before the tiny power number does. Manual is the worst scenario you could have , he's better of with a 2wd. He will be the laughing stock because of the stick. This will be ugly for him.

It all depends on how good he can shift and what he has for a clutch. Main thing is shifting.

As years have proven power does not win. Its a good consistent showing.

He might be the laughing stock. but we will see. Not sure where the manual gets a bad rap. Other then its because it has to be shifted and that looses you time. But that only matter for two events. two out of the seven.

Give it a chance man. ;) We both know that the other fords that are in should take the title again.. IF they do not break,

the only thing consistent will be the punching bag effect . you obviously dont know how bad a manual will hurt this guy.

i kinda understand how the events work, but he will probaly run 14's in the drag race if he's lucky, and the trailer tow will be worse.

not in the least. ***kers usually dont break. but to make big power they have to spray a ton or go huge on turbo, or both, and thats really tough at altitude, throwing a rowboat into that mix... will not bode well. feel free to quote that, i would love to be proved wrong on this one.

has to be 4wd. although kaleb would smash that 7.3 thats in it this year.

As of 2 hours ago it was dead on the side of the road. The cummins towing it to DPC blew the headgasket
. Electric fan couldnt keep up towing a grade.

If he does not break he will not be last place. I understand you problem with the Manual. I just feel it will not be as bad as we think. If he can make 800+ it should be a good showing. My reason? I know what mine can do with most likely not even 550 maybe not even 500. Now with another 300 to 350 on that? it would flat out skip. They are light remember that.

hmm Can he take it off the trailer and drive it there? Man that is bad news. With it a 6.7? There was one out here that did the same thing. Only thing was it was BONE stock.

Freaking jalopies. If your tow rig can't get your junk to an event without wrenching on it you fail.

Totally agree^^
As much as I love my 7.3's you have to know what you have. While at 500hp and under they are tough as nails.....500 isn't going to win. The 6.4's and maybe some time soon the 6.7's are our only legit shot. I'll root for PSD as usual. :D

I understand.. but From what I figure from every other dpc. If he finishes all the contests.. he should win.. most of the guys that are over 7-800hp break or have some sort of setback.. even if he is slow.. he shouldnt have a problem getting it to spool... keeping it lit might be a different story..

I've never competed at DPC but from the outside looking in.... I'd say a 7.3 needs every bit of a 1khp to run with the pack considering the CR guys are making 900+ on fuel usually. And most of us know that the 1khp pipe dream with a 7.3 is not very realistic without a **** load of cash and spare engines. It just seems like a wasted spot to me going into a gun fight with a pocket knife... JD or others in the voting could have filled the spot much more competitively. That's just my opinion. I do know that being broke down on the side of the road headed to DPC is never a great way to start the event. I wonder if they will call in a alternate
