2016 F350 seems as if the power is very low

I just turned in my 2015 F250 6.7 for a 2016 F350 due to a rear end collision.
After driving the 350 I've noticed the power is nothing like the 250 .. I called the dealer and they said the new trucks come detuned up until 5000 miles to help with engine brake in..Has anyone experience similar ? My F250 was bone stock and pulled like a freight train.. Only difference is the 250 was a standard bed and has 20 inch factory wheels while the new 350 is a long bed with 18 inch wheels..The new 350 motor seems to only have power above 2500 rpm..Any input will be greatly appreciated..thank you

If overall tire size is the same the rims dont make any difference other then weight.

But would that make a huge difference in power compared to my 2014 f250? The salesman told me the new trucks come detuned from the factory for the first 5k miles to help with breakin and will automatically recalibrate once the truck hits 5k miles. Has anyone ever heard of something like this?

Thats crazy considering how heavy the tire is compared to the wheel. But ive never held anything bigger than a 20x12. My 16.5x14 welds are pretty darn heavy though.

First post you said 15, then above you said 14. Different trucks.
The 15 is the same as your 16, the 14 had a different turbo.
The 14 will feel better down low but the 15-16 will feel better midrange and up top.
My brother has a 11 or 12 and I have a 16. Different power ranges.

Ok, this is driving me nuts, so I'll bite. How?

More mass outside the centerline of the hub. Id look up weights for similar wheels but nah..lol

You'd think it wouldn't matter but it do! I will say going from 37x13.5r on 16x12 to 35x12.5 on 20x12 it feels like it picked up 50 horsetorx pressures lol.

Lmao, I had some long post with velocities, mass, and friction corffecient all things being equal on both setups. But I figured it would just derail this thread. I wish I could find weights for sets of identical tires and wheel so I can put my inner math student at ease.

Ya i meant 2015. My 2015 F250 had a lot more linear power compared to the 2016 F350 I traded it for.. When i asked the dealer they told me the new trucks are detuned until 5k miles to help with break in.. Has me a little concerned since the trucks power is all above 2500 rpm.

Still the same height as the other...

However, it is none the less irrelevant to the conversation as it is the increased weight that makes it more difficult to accelerate more so than the final gear ratio influence of tire height.
All of which remains irrelevant since the trucks don't come factory with 35" tires no matter the rim diameter. They come in the p-metric sizes which most assuredly do change diameters with rim size.
