So the pinion nut on the rear axle backed out of one of our 2019 F450s. Truck has 97k miles with an extended warranty, 6000 engine hours / 150k miles but the truck has 6078 hours on the engine and Ford will not help, plus they are experiencing extreme backorders. We sourced an axle out of a wrecked truck.

We own 4 '19s, 2 '20s and 1 '21. These trucks haul everyday and this is the first major failure we've had out of the drivelines since the last '12 we had. We'll be checking each one weekly from here on out.

Anyone else heard of this happening?

Wow! Did it eat through the bottom of the diff or did it punch a hole in the housing? That’s wild.

Ask to speak to corporate. Keep pushing and ask how engine hours alone expires the warranty on a part directly related to mileage.
