I own a 2012 F250 with the 6.7L. It has 175000 miles on the original CP4.2 with zero issues. Id like to proactively replace/upgrade the CP4.2 here in the next 10,000-15,000 miles to something that flows a little more fuel. I'm aware that the common upgrade is to use a 15-19 model CP4.2 as they flow approximately 9% more fuel than the 11-14 model pumps. As I began doing some research it occurred to me that no one seems to be using (or at least posting about using) the 2020+ CP4.2 pump as an upgrade. From what I understand the 2020+ pumps are exteriorly identical to the 11-19 CP4.2. Ford claims the 2020+ pumps flow similarly to a 15-19 pump just at a maximum possible 36,000 PSI as opposed to the 15-19 pumps being capable of reaching 29,000-30,000 PSI. This along with Ford's advertised increase in power in a 2020 vs a 2019 leads me to believe the 2020+ CP4.2 may be a worth while upgrade. Am I missing something? Anyone have any experience using the 2020+ pumps as a retrofit? I've searched multiple forums, posted in several Facebook groups, and consulted with Ford Master Techs, asking them all this question with no good answers as of yet. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
