Last diesel I played with was the 7.3, no EPA bullshit.

I know many of you have had these newer ones a while... short of regular oil changes with OEM filters and keeping DEF *gags* topped off...

What should I know? Not looking to tune until it's out of warranty. Then I'll look into tunes/deeleets.

Not sure about the new ones, but the 11 and 12s can run 5000 plus miles before needing to top off the DEF tank.

Run good fuel from a known good source. Also running a good fuel lubricant is a good idea. Water and lower lubricant fuel are hard on the HPFP. When that goes it takes out everything down stream.

Congratulations !! Looking forward to hearing your take on the ten speed.

Thanks. I'm hoping between the 10 speed and 3.31 gears I get 20+ commuting. I've heard good things so far on them overall.

I hope you do as well. My brother has 3.31 gears and 20 inch rims. He gets around 16. Now on a trip he does better. Up around 20. My dad has 3.55 gears and 18 inch rims. He gets around 18 and on trips 21 avarage.

Both 10 speeds?

I hope 20s don't effect it that much.... I'd rather have 18s, but the blackout package comes with 20s.

No, 6 speeds. They do have the same final OD of .68 as the ten speed.

With 3.31 and 20 inch rims the rpms are very low. I am thinking 1550 or 1600 at 70.

EDIT: The 10R140 and 6R140 do NOT have the same OD ratio. The 10R140 is .63 and the 6R140 is .68. Sorry for the confusion!!!

5700 miles so far on my CCLB 350 with 3.55's and 295/65R20 on stock wheels. Everything else is stock for now. Just filled my DEF at 5600 miles for the first time, took 5 gallons. Honestly the truck is awesome, no complaints at all. Speedo isn't corrected but Fuelly says I'm averaging around 15 combined driving. I use the cruise a lot when I'm headed to work in the am. Truck is my daily, kid transporter, etc. I'll tow with it over the summer when my seasonal business starts up.

I may be hoping for too much in the mileage dept, but either way it's gonna be an upgrade. I'm just hoping it arrives before winter, because if not I'm screwed. I'm trading in my plow truck tomorrow, and my driveway is to long to shovel, lol

ALSO hoping it has the 48 gallon tank it's supposed to have.

If you drive it good and with the ten speed it will be in the efficiency range better than the 6 speed. So that should help.

I thought the 48 gallon tank was a option? Man that would be sweet though!

I couldn't get a straight answer, that was was I thought. Dealer thought they all get 34s now. Ford's site says this:

If that's what the Fords website says, I would tend to think that it should have the 48 gallon tank. That will be sweet, but painfull at the pump. You should have a easy 850 mile range on a trip @ 20mpg. That should leave you with 100 mile or more to empty.

Hopefully it comes full! :D

That is badass man!! I hope it does well for you! Just like usual, only major issues will be emissions junk..
Yeah, nothing to be done for it while on warranty tho. Afterward.... yup. Lol

My dad has right at 300k on his pickup. Bone stock. The only emissions related trouble he has had was a sensor in the exhaust and the def tank heater. Other that that no emission related troubles. Still gets 20 plus on a trip as well. I say that to say this, the emissions equipment are not alway's trouble. But, I still despise the stuff.

That's impressive.

I'd rather not have to worry about the extra EPA bullshit breaking. But I plan to keep it mostly stock.

It is. Ford had one of the best DEF/DPF systems on the road today. Still, as far is I am concerned it's a un-needed thing. It is harder on the engine as well. So it can and does affect longevity. Bye bye is the word to use for that stuff.
