I'm not sure, but if deranged weighs 4650 it doesn't look good. Maybe with a gutted bed and fiberglass front clip.

I think whitey weighed 6000lbs and that was a 4x4 longbed with a fiberglass front clip.. Better get the hole saw out

The ranger isn't gutted it can be lighter but has to be 4500 for prostreet.

We are building a completely gutted race truck I'm the shop now but it's 4wd. We are putting fiberglass in all the windows and mounting just the bed sides in the back

Well we took out a couple of leafs... we are going to play a little guess and check until we get it where we want it.

Calctracs are getting ordered today.

Now I am looking to tires/slicks. There are slim pickings for 16" and 17" wheels. Most end up being too big or too small for our application.

Assuming the truck ends up around 6000-6500lbs... we are going to want to be in the 120-130mph range at the track. So with 3.73 gears that would leave me with about a 29-31" tire.

Anybody have any suggestions on tire size/brand?
Anybody know how much has to be trimmed to fit 16" wheels on a 2005+ superduty?

need to account for 1-2'' of growth for bias slicks. at 120-130 it may only be 1'' or less cant really remember.

I have used MT and Hoosier. both are good ties. MT make more stiff sidewall tires im pretty sure. Thats what I would recommend.

Also going to want bead locks or at least wheel screw the beads.

I could swear that Bens truck had stock leafs and caltracs.

As for weight, my RCSB is right at 6000#. There is weight I could shed for sure, but it would take major surgery to get it down to even 5500#.

Thanks Matt... good info to know. I am very new at this and did not even think about that.

Thanks... Good reads. I might be changing my plans for the tire/wheel combo now

Thanks Dennis. Right now I am hoping for around 6000-6500lbs

Thanks for the pics swink. That helps. I actually took out the exact same springs but I think I want to sit a little lower than your truck, so I will have to figure something out.

This is how the truck sits right now. We still have a little more work to do before we put the bed on. The guys at Diesel More are building the truck faster than we can provide parts... we are just waiting for stuff to arrive.
