Ok, I had a shop install a rough country 3 inch lift with dual steering stabilizers up front. truck rode great and steered great! Wasn't hight enough. Soo... did the 4.5 inch lift on the front ONLY, rear has a 4 inch block like it did with the 3 inch lift, but now the bump steer is DANGEROUS!! he has the radius drop brackets.. The radius arms are in the top holes as was they when the 3 inch springs were on there.. any suggestions. Yes, it has been aligned. It doesn't pull any to the left or right, but DAMN when you hit a bump you better have a death grip on the steering wheel!!

First in with the 4.5 inch.. 2nd is the 3 inch

Sorry.. he ordered the dropped pitman arm and it came with the track bar drop bracket.. OH!! the coil springs look like a banana because the dude said he couldn't put the radius arms in the bottom hole because the rear is lower than the front, which is what I wanted(just personal preference) WTH does that have to do with anything?

I'll have him check that.. motorcycles is my thing. First 4x4 I ever owned in my life.. What it weird, it drove and rode like a Cadillac with the 3 inch on the front. So he swapped the springs and added the dropped pitman arm and re-aligned it again.. Now you cant even drive the sum beech!

If the radius arm brackets have a second hole to lower the arm for a 4.5" spring then that's where it needs to be .The springs being bowed is showing what the problem is . The caster is out so your basically steering under the axle not in front of it . That's why its so touchy . Lower the rear of the radius arms and find a new alignment guy .

Radius arms prob need dropped down. Measure eye to eye on the bolts. Drop amount should match lift height of the truck. If thats correct, its likely a trackbar/track bar bracket problem.

Thanks for the info guys! I guess if I have to ,I'll raise the rear. I went out last night and was driving it around, you can forget it! It drives like a bucket now! To dangerous to even drive. The dude was saying something about the ball joints being at a weird angle when he had the radius arms in the lower hole and he couldn't put them there because I did raise the rear of the truck too. Also said the front pinion angle on the driveshaft was to far out because I didn't raise the rear of the truck. I cant be the only one who likes the front sitting higher than the rear..??

lol you're definitely not the only one... cali lean, carolina squat... there are a few names for the more extreme versions. Personally, I'm a little OCD and prefer everything level, had to go with a different factory rear block to get my X leveled when we lifted it.

your suspension guy sucks. how would raising the rear suspension change your front pinion angle? your problem is caster angle. start buy dropping the radius arms to the lower holes and see how that works. also clarify whether he did a drop pitman arm and a drop track bar bracket.

Yes definitely on the drop pitman arm and drop track bar bracket.. I called RC today, 4 different times and talked to 4 different people, they ALL said the radius arms have to be in the lower hole. Then the coild springs would set straight, they are bowed now. What is weird is the same drop track bar bracket for the 3 inch and the 4.5 inch kit. And I agree with you guys, bloomin idiot this guy is! When to "4x4" shop and got his opinion, even he said the dude is an idiot! Soo, dropping it off tomorrow again, he has one more chance before I get my money back and go to the other shop.... by the way.. here is a pic, love the way it sits.. but damn is it hard core to drive with the chit all jacked out of wack!

tell him to simply remove the bolt at the back of the radius arm and drop it to the lower hole and touch nothing else. take it for a spin. if it is good-recheck alignment and rock on.

dont let him *** with anything else...

Well... little "small" update... dropped the truck back off at shop. dropped the bolts to the bottom hole.. NOTHING! I call rough country my damn self and apparently the sway bar extensions was NOT in the kit! He is putting them on now! So we will see. They said the 6 inch block had to be in the rear.. I told them they are ***in nuts! There is a thousands of these truck running around like this! I told the dude to put all the chit on there that is suppose to be on there, if it doesn't ride and drive like it's suppose to, but my stock chit back on! PERIOD! Should have done the chit myself!
