Hello, I was wondering if anyone has adjusted the wastegate on a 38R and if they have is it a noticeable difference and how the affect it had on boost and egt's?

depends what injectors you are running but i believe most guys on stock sticks crank it all the way shut.

It just depends how the wastegate was set from the factory. Obviously if its cranked way down, boost, backpressure, and egt's will increase. Id set it around 30 psi.

I tighten mine all the way with my 175's.

I hit about 36-38 psi with BP at about 45 psi. really not too bad. 1.0 AR.

Thanks everyone. I have 175 sticks and I was just curious because I've heard several people say that garrett sets up the wastegate loose

Most 38r's I see have the wastegate set to start opening around 15psi from the factory. That is much too loose for even bone stock trucks. I just crank it as tight as I can get it.
