3m paint protection

I m interested in 3m paint protection for the rockers of my truck to help with rock chips. I would like to have some feed back from people have had this stuff installed. Did it stop your rock chips? Is it worth the money ?

It's not 3m but check it out. I've got it on mine and it has prevented rock chips. Good stuff imo and easy to go on.

I put it on my Excursion and it works well. If you don't like rock chips it worth the investment for sure.

I put it on my White Bumper. It seems to be doing good for now but time will tell.

I had this done at the dealer I work for. 3m product.

The only thing I recommend is to keep fresh wax on it otherwise stuff sticks to it bad. Tar etc is very hard to get off if you don't keep it up.

Clean 15 did the 3m help with rock chips or does the rocks damage the clear protectant? I'm trying to get all the info I can before I get it done. I wish I had dont something when I bought the truck to deal with rock chips. I definitely have my share of chips on my rockers.

The big ones do go through the film but don't usually harm the paint. I figure it'll have to be replaced in 5 years or so on the rockers but they will be in good shape.....or by that time the rest of the paint won't look so hot and I'll just peel it off. When I get nicks in it I just trim it so the loose part is gone and it sits flush.

3m has a pattern for the front but it's coverage is not so good. Mine was all done freehand. I can't believe how good it turned out. Our installers are pretty talented.

Yeah. Very carefully so as not to damage the paint.

Had the 3M applied wheel well to wheel well from door guard down for $325.
Warranty says it must be replaced in 5 years or it will be difficult to remove.

Xpel would be the best, it "heals" itself to a point and its less noticeable than 3M.

I emailed a place in Baton Rouge and they said they would charge me something like $500 to do all of the lower 2 tone part of my truck (including the fender flares). I like the sound of the $125 and do it yourself, but I'm sure I would mess it up somehow. I'm deployed right now but when I get back I'm gonna call around and see if I can find it cheaper around the BR area....
