I have a BOV... Lol and yeah AMS is sweet, but really overkill unless you are programming a dedicated racecar. Yes my regulators are manual. They are mini air compressor regulators

Note: that mount is temporary

I see. I just like the idea of letting the electronics take care of it and I can have several boost levels programmed.

How are you actuating the BOV? I know a gasoline engine you reference boost after the throttle body. When the vehicle is in boost and the throttle snaps shut, it creates a vacuum and opens the BOV.

Google BD BOV diesel kit. Works off a solenoid that is tied into your throttle position voltage wire. When you drop the petal it sees the extreme voltage change and opens the valve.

Looks like it works just like the AMS controllers. When the controller see the drop in voltage it dumps the pressure to the top of the valve which let's the boost push the valve open. Is that correct?

I am not exactly sure what you are saying.. You want the controllers that operate the wastegates to open or shut under full throttle. So that say when the HP turbo makes 25lbs of boost, the gate is pushed open and the air is fed into the Atmo..

Now if you are talking about the BOV than yes you are correct. voltage drop equals open valve and release of trapped boost.

Bd blowoff will stick and cause you fits. I would take apart the solenoid and clean it every few months. It gets dirty and sticks.

Haven't had any issues.. Morgans has been on his 6.0 for 4+ years with no problems.

He must be one of the lucky ones.
I had one fail multiple times.. Bought a new one and had the same issues.

Cleaning it helps, but it does get dirty as Eric stated and likes to gum up.

I don't like mine. Had to shim the valve to keep it from opening under boost.

I did the same, then figured out it was the solenoid. Shimmed it so it wouldn't open. lol Now it is running one with a filter on it so nothing gets gummed up. But not a BD
