4R100 won't go in reverse

my 4R100 won't go in reverse. It won't go in neutral either. It even thinks its in drive when I shift into park. goes into 1st, 2nd, and drive fine. Any ideas of whats goin on?

Hows the shifter feel, loose? Check cable adjustment at the transmission? Put truck on jack-stands, disconnect cable and manually shift in gears to verify it isn't internal in transmission?

What does the fluid look and smell like? Red, brown, or black? Does it smell burnt?

What you are describing fits a destroyed forward clutch.
