4x4 ZF-6 to 4x2 question

The ZF6 in my 550 is shot, picked up a low mile trans from a buddy, however my truck is 2wd and the new trans is 4wd. What is involved in swapping output shafts, cover, ect.

Pretty much disassemble the whole trans to replace the mainshaft. Most of the components on the main shaft have to be pressed on and off also.

i dont know about the sd's but the obs cab n chassis 2wd trucks used a 4x4 trans the e-brake assembly bolted in place of the tcase
