super easy. lift vehicle, remove front tires, support axle, disconnect shocks at the bottom, disconnect abs wires at control arms, disconnect brake line brackets from axles, disconnect both sides of sway bar at frame. Lower the axle, and the springs come right out. throw new springs in, and put it back together. DONE. If this entire process takes you more than 1.5 hrs WITHOUT a lift, then put your helmet back on, quit licking the window, and pay somebody else to do it.

You also may need to adjust the steering wheel after doing this. Simply adjust the turnbuckle on the drag link to shorten the length until the steering wheel is straight again going down the road..

When I did mine I lifted the front up, disconnected the shocks and kept lifting until the springs came loose... I wouldn't bother with disconnecting everything else unless you ran out of travel...

Recap: Wayne put 5.4, 6K springs on mine and then after I drove it a few thousand miles cut 1 coil off. It sits just right with 15#'s of air in the airbags while towing and 10#'s daily driving.

:whs:
If you lift both sides at once you won't have to disconnect the sway bar.

Does anyone have any pictures of their truck with the 4800lb in front and no rear block or fatty leaf, and same tire size all the way around?

No pics ... but I would leave the fat leaf in and pull the arched overload out , it will ride much better that way.

So I confused on which coils to get?
My truck currently has 5600lb from factory and I'm running a icon 1" block in the rear. I was looking to soften the ride in the front and was thinking about the 5200lb springs would this be the right choice.

The truck is ec/sb fx4 with stock size terra grapplers

it will drop the height about 1 to 1.5 inches and yes the ride will be softer.

Does anyone know what springs would work in a fx4 dually with only the rear blocks removed?
Thanks
