Custom tunes with the tuner? With custom tunes you will see a noticeable difference in performance. If you can keep your foot out of it will see an increase in fuel mileage as well. A lot of people say the stock filter and housing flows plenty of air for what your doing right now. If your not planning going all out might be able to save yourself a couple hundred bucks.

I've heard the same about the stock filter, kind of wish I had saved my money when I put my afe on almost a year ago and got some other mods..

i swear i posted a reply 5 minutes ago.. anyway.

the stock filter flows around 550HP worth of air.

doubt you need it. i still have mine and i run 13.7 in the 1/4..

the sct will make you a happier man than the exhaust or intake. the exhaust will help egt's a bit.

I wouldn't spend the money on the intake right now. If it gets to the point where you wanna make 500-550+ then spend the money on it, but if your really just doing a tuner and exhaust I wouldn't worry about it.

Don't go anything bigger then 20's unless you have a major bankroll lol. I had 22's and as much as I drive tires would kill you.

I would say with 33's your probably fine. Idk with 35's you'll probably have to have atleast a leveling kit in the front. When it comes to suspension and wheels and tires I have a lot to learn.

I just installed a AFE 4" TB Atlas WO/cat. It made a real differnce in power and fuel economy. I'm stock except air filter and FICM reprogramed.

The tunes will make or break your dads streak of luck regarding lack of issues.

I run a SCT live wire with KEM tunes. Not the only tune writer just one I chose to go with first. Soo many to choose from it is crazy. Just remember that the more you play, the more you play. I bought mine 2 years ago with 103k. Been tuned since then and now with 135k.

I tried some non custom tunes and well, it was fast but the tranny went out 3 passes down the 1/4. Be smart with your choices and make sure you need it before you buy it.

Oh and start saving now. About 5k$ will be enough to do a cab off stud job with replaced HPOP and oil cooler/egr delete.

I had my FICM reflashed or programed by PHP . Bill said it was an Atlas 40. What ever it is, I went from driving a duce & 1/2 to a finer tuned vehicle.
Bought the truck used 2 years ago 86K miles and now 122K. Runs like a champ. No problems what so ever.
