I also went from stock air filter to the AFE pro dry filter, Just filter only no aftermarket filter housing or intake piping. It made a difference .

I have an s&b on there right now.. And my dad had a k&n before but it voided the warrantee so he took it off when he had to take it in and ended up selling it.. And the afe stage 2 was recommended to me

What i am saying is that eventually, the 6.0 needs a Lil upgrade. Saving up before it happens makes it almost painless when the tuning and flogging of the truck take its toll on the HG's and other things that happen due to age and added heat and cylinder pressures.

Not all 6.0's fail. But being ready never hurt

I haven't run innovates tunes but if you want a tune with a good reputation with stock bolts I'd suggest Matt at gearheads SRL

i had matts srl tune for 30k before i smoked the headgasket....and that was daily driven, towed and raced with that. With S&B intake, mbrp 4 inch cool duals, srl tune and the swamps tuned FICM i did 398/832 on the dyno (blew the cold side pipe or woulda been higher) if you drive sensible stock headgaskets will probably last BUT i still wouldn't tune it til you have enough cash in the bank to do studs, just my opinion.

How much did you tow with it, that was probably your problem there....
