Hey guys, I have a buddy that is considering going through his 05 6.0 in the upcoming winter months and doing a basic rebuild. The engine currently has roughly 230k on it. Is there a particular mileage mark where the engine should come out for at least a look at the bottom end? What hard parts should be looked at/replaced besides what is contained in a basic rebuild kit? I know he will be doing some larger injectors & turbo on this thing so new studs will be going on and potentially new heads if his old ones do not check out. Is there a way to determine how much life is left in this thing besides a compression test & blowy test?
