We are not saying they are not component balanced, but is it not better to have it balanced as a whole? Its your motor, stick a screwdriver in your turbo for all I care.just don't go telling everybody that you can just go around swapping wheels and everything will be fine. not all compressor wheels are component balanced as well. and comparing them to a tire...

Im done here. You can't balance the rotating assembly of a factory 6.0 turbo when it is assembled, you dont know what you are talking about.

I said that not all turbos are component balanced, but that 6.0 turbos are.

I should have used a reference a little easier to understand aparently, you arent getting it...

.
To the OP, I think that your turbo is good based on what you are describing, just make sure that the thrust play is good, and that you dont have any housing interference

Dude who do you think makes a 6 liter turbo...

You didn't understand my post at all lol. I said that the ones I've saw were all balanced as a whole, not component. That's why I said they cheaped out.:banghead:

Also, you can balance an assembled 6.0 turbo. They get balanced the same as every other turbo. Have you ever even saw a turbo balanced before? There is nothing special about 6.0 turbos that make them unbalanceable.

I got you now, thats why I deleted it, my bad.

However, show me a factory light duty diesel turbo that isnt made this way. Its not a bad way to make a turbo.

I'm not trying to be a dick either, just stating the facts.

Look at some reman turbo sites. Most will balance them.

Please tell me where I was wrong? If anything I asked a question, correct? but hell, I just don't know what I am taking about. I think you lost me with all those big words. maybe I still thought we were taking about tires...? I don't know.

Pretty sure I know a guy that had his p max balanced. Is that the same?

And op, good advice at the end of that post.

In an attempt to end this I will say only this. I disagree with the fact that you say it's a bad idea to remove compressor wheels. Look how many people do it with batmowheels.

I guess I should say that maybe we should agree to disagree. I was a little harsh on you and I think its easy to get carried away.

Have a good night.....cheers

Haven't a couple of batmowheels came apart? :poke: just kidding though. I'm running one LOL

In short, all I was trying to get at was that it is better to have it balanced (if possible). But I've seen/heard people swap WW on 7.3s and other batmowheels with good results.

Have a good one!

Keep is updated op if you decide to rebuild it or not.
