6.0L runs rough at idle and blows black smoke

All powerstrokes have a closed ccv system. Thats why your intercooler boots are oily, your crankcase vents right into your intake. And yes replace the ficm, like I said, its gonna kill your injectors if you dont replace it

Ficm. Bulletproof is the only way I would suggest.

thanks alot for the advise guys, now im sending my FICM out for repair, do yall think an economy tune is worth the $150
