Please redirect me if posted before. Saw this on facebook. A buddy of mine is getting the APEX and was wanting to know If doing the 6.4 intake is any better? Not sure If anybody is running this and knows how this performs? Worth it over the APEX?

It's not an easy swap, but if your pretty good at fabrication it can be done. I can tell you it's not just going to go together smoothly.

Well how much of a benefit would this be if doing so? Are they that much different than the 6.0?

Nic,
You most certainly can use a 6.4 manifold on a 6.0. I have one bolted on my truck right now. It takes some minor modifications. As for performance goes, I have no idea whether it is better than a stock 6.0 or a Apex 6.0/6.4 manifold. I am running it purely to fit the 6.4 compound turbo's (see thread "6.0.4 revisited" for info on that topic) I will upload a photo this evening of the intake manifold on the truck.

PM me if you want some more details.

You can do it, but like stated you will have to figure out the associated stuff that bolts to the 6.0 intake that there are no previsions or bracketing for on the 6.4 intake. The intakes them selves will physically bolt to either motor. The other issue with be fan shroud clearance and the intake elbow mounting flange being different. All things that can be resolved but still require some fabrication. The 6.4 intake does flow more than the 6.0 intake, is it enough difference to constitute the hassle or cost of making it work  I don't know. But for the amount of time and money being spent to make it work I'd say you would probably be better off just buying a ported 6.0 intake and call it a day. Unless you just need the added clearance for doing something like the 6.4 turbos on a 6.0 like one member is attempting I don't see the point.

I would rather put the work into building a custom intake than just swap a 6.4 intake on it.

In all honesty the 6.4 manifold is only going in the truck until some solid numbers are obtained with the 6.4 turbo's. If it were not for the fact that they are 99% ready to drop into a 6.0, I would have built my own manifold.

Same goes for the exhaust manifolds, i want to try 6.0 manifolds because the 6.4 manifolds are very tight, down the road I may consider a set of Steed's or again, building my own set.

Just to be clear, the stock 6.4 manifold outflows the stock 6.0 manifold. It does not outflow a ported 6.0 manifold. Carry on
