On vacation with my new to me 6.4. Pulled out to pass a truck at approx 70mph and truck just shuddered and bogged when it downshifted. Also missed a bit when merging onto highway climbing a hill. Checked codes with AE when I got to destination. No codes in memory, koer test gave me a 1408 for Egr out of self test range. Obd2 data shows various misfires and Egr codes.
I'm thinking the Egr valve is hanging open, does this sound right? I never noticed any smoking, but I never really looked at the time either. Can't say that I'm too familiar with 6.4s yet. Thanks.

Truck is still under warranty and the drivetrain is still bone stock. That's how you can tell I've only owned it a few months.

Don't worry about it big guy... Common problem when driving long distances in the rain. There's actually a TSB out on it. The problem is a design issue with the intercooler that allows it to collect moister in the rain. Some have had theirs replaced under the TSB and problem went away completely, others still get some stumbling in the rain at times... Myself included.

No sheet...... Lol, anyone got a link to this TSB? If that's the case, I'll probably get one ordered up when I get home, and enjoy the rest of my vacation not worrying about it and thinking I should have drove out in the wife's V10 (lifted on 37s) .
Thanks buddy!!

Here is the TSB # and info:
TSB 08-25-1

White smoke in damp weather conditions when accelerating; trucks built before Oct 1, 2008

Concern is described as significant amounts of white smoke from the exhaust pipe.
White smoke only occurs in high humidity or rainy conditions above 40 °F (4 °C).
White smoke only appears during a moderate to heavy tip-in that is performed after a period of steady state driving (approximately 20 minutes)
No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are present.
Concern is not a result of regeneration, a cleaning exhaust filter event.

If all of the criteria above is true, then replace the Charge Air Cooler Assembly with a new revised part
