So yah, how is comparing a commercial engine to a light-duty gas engine apples to apples?

That's exactly my point. you cannot compare a 6.0L powerstroke or a 7.3L to a built drag engine. So sure you can have a gas engine run hotter than diesel but if you took a built 6.0l powerstroke and a built 6.0L gas engine hands down the diesel runs hotter.

I belive gassers run hotter... I have hualed hay with an old gas pot truck we had it loaded to the hill. By the time we made it to the drop the exhuast was turning red... never seen that on a diesel.. that's my. 02
