single shot's are always a better choice because they use less high pressure oil, but you must have a custom tuned chip for them.

Dont kill me for thinking outside the box but a guy with a stock superduty who just needed a hair more, ~350rwhp, and was building for reliability at that level could throw a set of tim@pis ad/30% injectors in and push 350+ rwhp with an adrenaline or t500 or even a larger oil setup. Then the truck would still run normally without a chip and make about 250whp. Maybe less.

Until superduties are running single shot pcm I dont like this relying on a chip bs. I had to drive mine with 175/80s and no chip when my wife left my driver side.windows down and rain got.in the chip. Somehow the pcm was fine. It was not fun and shifted horribly!

Is there a way to change the native software to alleviate this?

It'd be rad to have a pcm with an all out tune for your setup on it. No chip, no bs. Start it and go. Less hassles.

you get the PCM flashed with your fav tune and you wont need a chip, there is just no going back IIRC
my pcm has an edge tune flashed, so when I bypass the Hydra I get 5ms pw edge smoke tune that blacks out the road

How does that pig run?

Like a boss. For 175/30s I'm impressed.

Just ordered 250/100s for my DD, curious how those will run.

I would never go with split shots 30 over though... an adrenaline is barely keeping up with new stock ADs from swamps in my uncles truck..

I do however agree 100% on needing to tune the PCMs for SS. I need to do that on the dooley soon.

Yea. I guess I should have said no tuner wants to do it. Dont you think it would make life just a little bit easier? I dont change tunes anyway. I want all the fuel under my foot at will. Use the pedal instead of a cheesy knob.

Id really enjoy my cts with some gearhead or nltd tuning.

Won't DP tune the pcm?

Thats not a good reflection on the adrenaline. I know swamps injectors arent the issue there.

My srp1.1 when working well would hold 3400 psi of icp in my php race tune with my ad's. I wonder why that isnt working well? A good stock 17°(bosch) should handle an ad even tuned.

You arent being questioned here, that just seems like something is not quite right.

Edit:I dont like 100 over nozzles. 30,80, or 200s seem to be good thus far. I had 80 and 100s on the same set of injectors a couple of years ago and the 100s werent as good as the 80 at anything for me. The egts were higher and it was.smokier with tuning revisions even. My definition of smoky and other peoples is different. My 250/200s smoke about as much as a stock chipped truck but my tuning is conservative since.my valvesprings are NOT upgraded yet. I purchased 910s and im not.comfortable using them. Im going to spend a bit more and get springs made for the 7.3. Then ill ramp the fuel up.

I read the risk of bricking the PCM due to its age is why they dont want to touch it.

on my 'one day' list is looking to see if my delta force will flash my gearhead tune to the pcm, like you I leave it on hot street 99.9% of the time

could be the truck... I had a modded 17 (before the t500) on it before and it would drop to 1900psi and P1211 would come on.. with the Adrenaline, it holds 2500...

The srp doesn't compare to an adrenaline when they work lol.

And not feeling questioned at all no worries there.

i hear you. i suppose its just a matter of how one wants to do it. hell, i ran my 2002 for a day or two with 238/100's on stock split shot pcm tune. loped like hell, and drove a little funny, but it was alright until my chip was shipped back from gearhead. imo though, i will/would never, ever buy another set of split shot injectors. they just seem silly.

I hear ya. But that one factor can be bad if you NEED the truck. If the truck can sit, it doesnt matter. Ill tell you one thing, my truck.was turnkey reliable until about 230k miles. The change in reliability coincided with me adding a different turbo and then convincing myself some more fuel would be good too.

Im not blaming anything on my experiences just saying from a.need.to.run.everyday perspective I think Id have a chip but injectors that did not need it in.case.

But on.a.different note these 250/200s.are something I should have pissed with a LOT sooner! Im running a 450ish hp tune and its bad as all getout. Tows very cool and does everything better.

That's exactly why my uncle got stock injectors, he hauls cars and I wanted him to be able to go to any dealer, and buy iniectors in case one was to fail.

But you must admit, after you run a truck with 450hp. Going back to a stock injectored truck is nearly impossible lol.

I'm sure. Its not.about doubting me. What set of conditions have to be present for it to happen?
dont know if it is stiction or not but you can come watch my 01 start and run like chit till it is ul to operating temp... it doesnt use oil but it doesn't hold icp worth a chit either so I dont know if it is just flat worn out.

My Adrenaline, when the trans was working. Was still holding 3200 far as long as I wanted, with 250/200 injectors. Has almost 150,000 miles on the Adrenaline, over 100,000 on the injectors.

Sounds like worn out stock injectors.
