7.3 oil issues

Does the oil deadhead if its closed? When I gutted mine I recall the various oil paths that were welded but dont know exactly how it works.

My concern was the big diff in pressure when measured at the res or the service port by the filter. There's a flow blockage somewhere.

Not gonna lie didn't even read that part of the post I must of skimmed over It. I was just throwing out ideas. I do know I used a ****ty filter and my dash gauge would read fine but my autometer would take forever to build pressure.(port by oil filter) It was only with that one oil filter

Put a new lpop, melling, along with a new oil cooler and a pressure regulator on it lastnight, I'm gunna start it once I get the new charger on it. I'm going to put a oil psi gauge in one of the ports in the pedestal and see what my pressure is.

Welp, got 'er running again, drives great oil pressures are 100% matching at reservoir and right after the oil cooler.. I think I got her dialed in! Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. Good to have ya around
