Has anyone ever heard of the Filtration Solutions Worldwide FS-2500? Buddy of mine showed it to me. Said you can get 70,000 miles between oil changes! Said it filters the oil out to 99.97% and down to 3 microns absolute filtration. Gives horsepower! And doesn't affect your warranty.

Sounds like a load of crap to me. What about you guys?

i believe elite reccomends that kit with a set of injectors and allows you to get more warranty. But 70k oil changes, im not buying that one bit

whether it filters the snot right out of it or not it still gets beaten up in our oil system pretty good. id like to see an oil analysis on a system that shears oil like our system

It says the filter is 11 inches tall and 5 inches wide and mounts to, well wherever you can fit it.

I just can't imagine the filter surface area being able to hold 70,000 miles of dirtiness. Just seems Inpossible.

I would think that the filter could filter out most of the stuff succesfully, and the oil would probably be "clean" to a certain extent. But, over all those miles, the oil will break down (and a HEUI system makes this worse, the CR powerstrokes dont suffer in that aspect), and loose its better qualities.

Lets say it filters EVERYTHING. Its the perfect filter.

Still have to change the oil on a heui system like we have. I dont change my oil when I do because its dirty I change it because its running like crap. The oil breaks down in our trucks because of the injectors. So it wouldnt effect us oil change wise and I would have to believe it would effect other vehicles too.

Now that said my grandfather never changed the oil on his ford falcon car. He topped it off from time to time and changed the filter. Looks like new in the valve covers and runs perfect still and thats 44 years and 110k miles without an oil change :)

But I personally like to do regular changes and my 7.3 wont hardly run without changing the oil. I was able to extend it to 8k to 10k or so changes with synthetic but I wont go past that. 3k was the change time with dino oil.

70,000 mile oil changes... I couldn't do 7000 mile oil changes in my 6.0's if I wanted them to actually run...

Yeah that interval is with normal filter changes, topping off on the oil and certainly not for engines with injectors that run hydraulically. We stress the oil far too much to run something like that.

No way in a 6.0..The hpop works the oil so frickin hard that a 40w oil literally cannot survive. It breaks it down to a 30w where it wants it. Especially in a hot tuned 6.0 trying to go that mileage is straight retarded. My advise to you, is to definitely try a bypass kit for sure. I have an Amsoil kit myself. When you do (if you do) do yourself and your truck the best favor and send in an oil sample @ around 5k. Then if it looks good, send in another whenever they suggest to. Thats when you know 100% for sure how youre oil is doing, how youre truck is doing and how far you can actually go. A buddy of mine in ND has had his oil sampled for the last 2 years with Amsoil. He is currently doing 18k mile oil changes before the fuel dilution gets near critical. Hope this helps.
