No real news right now.

What's everyones opinion on leaving the rat rod look of the 79 vs using all the parts from my reg cab and making it a nice truck?

I have had some thoughts that making the interior really nice and leaving the rest would be cool

Be sweet to be hooked up to my camper and passing others in an old truck.

Both will have wow factors I think rat rod more people will expect seeing a diesel in, if a clean 79 extended cab rolls by and rolls some coal most people are gonna ***in lose it

I didn't really think of that. I think I'm going to probably put it together as is and then make that call

Nice build! I would go for the full on fresh rebuild look rather than the "trash rod" look. :)

Much easier to build it and then paint it once you get a good "vision" of how it's coming along.

One suggestion,....... dually. Would look badazz

Another vote for a full clean paint job on a 70s Ford!!

Here's a pic for some more color scheme options. I always liked the tu-tone roof caps but either way looks good.

Bed fit the frame surprisingly well. 4 bed bolts dropped in they might need to be slotted a little to slide the bed back just a bit.

Mostly just checking floor height on the cab to ensure the body lines will work out. Goosneck hitch looks like it should even work out pretty well.

Few more small checks and I think I'm ready to start welding the floor in

Yeah no cummins swaps here. There is one 79 high boy with a 12v and a 78 Chevy with a 12v thought I would at least stay brand loyal lol.

Might have another 6.0 truck lined out. Maybe I'll do another one on the regular cab... Lol my wife would probably kill me but oh well.

Just because I haven't updated doesn't mean that I haven't been working on it. There just hasn't been a ton to show for my hours of work. The floor is about 90 percent welded in. Just need to message the firewall some and then it's about ready to leave the cab on permanently. I will paint the frame before that happens.
