Technically, with it being tuned and deleted, they are responsible for nothing.

Ehh, debatable... Why does everyone recommend deleting and tuning for "Reliability"? Technically, when something fails that would make Ford even MORE responsible for any failures since you had made it " More Reliable". Kinda contradictory ya know?

Ford warranties what they let leave the factories. The trucks left the factory with EGR's and DPF's. If its a chitty design, they will warranty them. If they are removed, its your decision to mess with it. Whether it makes it better or worse and they are not reliable.

I see your point and I agree EGR's and DPF's are useless. Buuutt that's not the debate on hand.

Why do people get uptight when someone wants to make a warranty claim on a modded truck? Not trying to argue, I just don't understand. Doesn't sound like he was hot lapping at the track or anything.

I still have the temp tag on this truck... I just deleted it, an I work 15 hour days... I drive the truck 3 miles in the morning, 7 miles every night. No rodding, I am not a kid... I am very far from home to have my **** tore up.

At the "it needs a short block" level, it won't likely be the dealer making the decisions if it is warranty or not.

It will be corporate/prior approval.

They ask on the form if truck is modified.

They may send a zone rep to inspect.

That is good to know, thanks!

I've got a good DPF/doc off of an 08 6.4 with all the sensors still if you need it. Just a hop skip and a jump away in Iowa.

It drives up the price of trucks as the manufacturers increase MSRP to recoupe losses on warranty insurance.
