Switching to a SD turbo will take some fab work. The downpipe is not the same nor is the turbo outlet. I takes a new pedistal, new collector, up pipes on most likely one manifold. Now if you are thinking of down the road going to a 38R it might be a reasonable idea. You can also rebuild a turbo yourself. If you are curious I can put up some pictures.

what do you mean a new collector? and as far as turbo outlet what needs to be done ?

The collector is the part the up pipes go into. The turbo outlet is sized differently.
