My psd keeps cutting out at higher rpms, around 1800 and up. It cuts out and drops a few hundred rpms then picks back up. It does it constantly. It did this once before and I put a new CPS in it and it ran fine but this time I've put 2 in it and it didn't fix it. Fuel pressure is fine.

Oil level is good, batteries and cables are less than 2 months old. TS chip, 3" dp 4" straight pipe tymar intake. It acts the same with the chip on stock or turned up. Fuel filter has about 30 miles on it.

Everything is good, I've checked it all. I've checked manifold temps with a temp gun, pulled the valve covers and unplugged each injector to make sure they all were working. Found a bad one, it had a broke armature screw, I replaced the screw and injector started working again. Idled smoother, better throttle response but it still cuts out. I did all this a couple weeks ago. Fuel pressure is good. My icp was bad for a while and it ran fine, when it started cutting out I put a new one in and it didnt change anything.

Running, the voltage is 13.5 to just under 14. Not running its a little over 12. Ive heard that if the map sensor is unplugged and it runs better, it's bad. It runs the same unplugged as plugged in.

That's what I was thinking since it does it in higher rpms and the fuel pressure is good. I hope it's not the problem tho.

I started up the truck earlier and let it idle for a while. It was blowing a little white smoke, but it's been doing that since the problems started but it clears up after I start driving. After a couple minutes the throttle pedal wouldn't work and was blowing even more white smoke. After about 10 seconds it started working again and the smoke cleared up. After it ran for about 30 minutes I took the temp gun to check the manifold temp on each cylinder. The number 8 is a lot colder than the others. I had the same issue a few weeks ago and after checking all the injectors the number 8 had a broke armature screw, I replaced it and the injector started working again but the motor was still cutting out around 1800 rpms and up. I drove the truck for a long time with the number 8 not working before and it ran fine up until recently. When I first started having these problems it started with the gas pedal not working and white smoke everywhere while I was driving. It ran fine for a few days and now I'm having these issues.

Also, I put a new icp sensor in it and nothing changed with it plugged in or not. Well today with it plugged in, the CEL finally turned off and the motor was revving up and down by itself and the gas pedal wouldnt respond. It did this with my old icp also so I assumed it was bad. Why does it do that?

Ok so I pulled off the valve cover to test the injector that was reading a low number and it was working. I started it up and let it run for a few minutes and all the temps were very close. I dont know why it showed lower before. I've checked it almost everytime I run it since it started acting up and it's always been close to the others. The motor is still cutting out.

I still haven't figured out what's going on with my truck. It's going to the shop this week. I pulled off the drivers side valve cover today and the number one injector wasn't spitting oil and nothing changed when I unplugged it so I pulled off the solenoid and found a loose armature screw. I tightened it up and it started spitting oil and when I would unplugged it it made a difference in the idle. I figured that now that I knew for a fact that all 8 injectors were working it would run better but nope its still cutting out. One thing I don't understand is, it's cutting out at 1800-2500. If I raise the rpms over 2500 and hold it there, it doesn't cut out at all. Any thoughts on this?
