Yeah your right. I was looking to buy a rebuilt 4500 and it was $900 where as a 5600 was $2500. Yeah I think the 4500 is the better option haha

Well Iv got some parts ordered and on their way. I ordered a 4.5" RSK and shackle flip from Paul at CP and he has some motor mounts as well. Hopefully Trevor at PMF will have those sent out Monday for me. Iv got some SD springs sitting here that I'm gonna throw under it to see how I like it. Finally making some progress on this.

My fummins has around 300-350 hp and I'm running the a brand new NV4500. I surely would never want to tow or put any more hp threw this trans. The 3-4 shift is a pita, too much rpm difference. I'm switching to a g-56 when the nv goes. Overrated pos just my 2 cents.

My zf5 was the same way but I learned how to deal with it and made it work. For the hp levels I want it's gotta be a 4500. The g-56 will grenade on me since it can't handle the power. For you it should hopefully hold up.

I hope so, it just bugs a guy when you drop 2500 on a new nv4500 and a 1000 on a clutch then you end up not liking it and hear stories of stock trucks breaking them.

Damn that's expensive for a new 4500. Iv been finding brand new ones for 1400. See I know if the 5th gear nut backs off it causes issues but other than that i rarely hear of them breakinf

What size plungers and barrels are you looking to run, .120" lines are hard to fill with stock barrels, give the guys at Scheid, Haisley or Columbus DI in Ohio a call, 800hp with a 12valve is doable and very easily achieved, but "streetable" is another thing to be said, it is after all a mechanical engine and tuning is limited not to mention the govenor assembly is fixed time, I rode in Dodge years back with a Sigma and fuel box with the timing advance unit and it was a monster, but that pump 7 years ago was $10,000, I give you props though if you make it streetable and lay down 800hp. :toast:

It'll be full cut laser delivery valves and the big stuff internally. If I size the turbos right I can do it and make even more power than the 800 and still drive it easily on the street. Iv been looking into an HE551V to run as a small charger and throw a 91mm or bigger on top of that. I know fleece makes a controller for that just gotta see if it'll work in a fummins or not

Thats sounds like one mean Fummins, I just hope the streetable part works out for ya, the tuning will be a little more difficult imo, I may be wrong, I'm just glad you're using an OBS truck, they were such a good pickup, post more PICS!!

I will once I get some more parts at the house. It's all a mater of which route I go. I'm starting to get the drag racing bug again so I might run a smaller set of compounds so it'll be easier to tune and tow with.

Well I got the motor mounts and the shackle flip for the rear end and just waiting for the PMF RSK to show up and waiting on trying to sell a few parts to be sold so I can get the truck over to the shop to plug the motor in and hopefully find a trans here soon.

Anyone know of an NV4500 for sale?

Got some work done to it finally. Got the 24V finally set in this past weekend and started to work on the suspension today. Had the front axle out in 2 hours. Not too bad I thought. Hope to get it back on it's wheels here this weekend.

Now with further adieu on to the pics

Well got some good progress on it this weekend. Finished up the rsk and got the rear shackle flip done. Loving the height of it so far. The rocker panel is at my hip and I'm 6'. It's also only on 35s. I'll be addin a 3" body lift and anywhere from 36"-40" tires. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1411943476.689235.jpg

Need a little bit of clearance for the motor and turbos. Valve cover is too close for me to get it out

Well I got the cab lifted off and most of the frame cleaned off. Just need to burn off the unneeded brackets and start cleaning the rust up.

Well put the cab back on for winter so I can open up some room in the shop. Also set the atmo charger up to see if I like it there or not. Let me know your thoughts. Going for something completely different.

That would look sweet, but its not realistic because of how "in the way" of everything it is. Hood clearance issues, pulling the valve cover, oil feed/ return clearance, then theres the rest of the plumbing. If your set on it, go for it, but I think it would be a pain in the ass.
