Those both look good to me. The green seems a tad high in the front but it still looks good, I think.

Thanks, I really like the way it looks especially with the tire size I'm running now. Adding the extra leaf helps me with the squatting, that and I also run some of the aircell foam whatever the hell they are things like timbrens lol which help when towing. Towed my brother's truck before and couldn't really tell if it was high in the nose. So for what I tow I have no issues.

I actually like the stock main pack leafs on that were in my DRW. I added to the overloads. Drives nice empty. Doesn't sag much when loaded, but I also did a progressive leaf for the overload. So that when it is loaded it's not rough as sh!t. I've built quite a few leaf packs over the years from used spring packs. From fleck off road to beefed up haulers. Overloads make sense for dual purpose ride quality. Otherwise the main leaf in a progressive pack gets bent backwards under heavy loads. Which is hard on them. But again to each their own.

Both sets of rear lift springs on this truck, including the overloads have been custom spec'd. I understand what you're saying but never have found a set of springs custom or otherwise to ride as well as the lighter stock options with bags. Throw some decent dampers on the front and rear and it doesnt need to ride like a lumber wagon.

We may be saying the same thing just politely disagreeing with the iverload spring being the solution versus an airbag for heavier towing. Or i guess loads if you put a pallet of bricks in the bed.

Most of my trucks with stock suspension are riding on the overloads, or at least the front pad, without a trailer even hooked up.

Enter the lift kits. Mine never decreased anything in terms of useage. They never sagged as bad towing, they arent as mushy turning, and obviously they helped tremendously offroad by allowing larger tires.

This truck wont see hard useage anymore. Its getting cleaned up really good and repainted. Mall crawlered to yank my enclosed trailer around. Which is why i chose 3klb rear stock springs. I dont think my tongue weight is very high. With two hands i can pick up the tongue. Its heavy, but not 1k kbs. I can pickup 600lbs on a bar and it feels very similar, maybe a tad heavier.

Ill be sure to update how it all works. I just ordered some bags yesterday.

I looked at the sumo springs but didnt really get the idea so i went for the bags. If I change my mind the stepson said he could use them for when he picks up cats and cummins for builds with his cclb 6l.

Definitely cant argue there. Softer springs empty and adjustable airbags are king. I just don't have air bags laying around, and typically come across leftover spring packs to make what I need. Occaisionally even buy something LOL

I must have missed the air bags comment before. My bad.

Its ok. I aporeciate the input either way. Your 8dea about custom springs is fairly relevant to me as thats what Ive ran for 255k miles on this very truck. But going back to stock and a frame off, i dont want a "diesel" looking truck anymore. Yea its not gonna look remotely stock but stock height. No tip or stack.

Sumo or timbrens suck. The unloaded ride sucks.

I didnt buy them so thats cool. I got firestone 5k lb rated air springs. I said give me something decent, not the cheapest shti you got, but I dont need some pink rubber with leds in it. The guy said im not sure what you mean by that. *click*. I hangded up.

Called sdtrucksprings told the guy dont sell me your topshelf bag kit for the guy who just wants to show people how much dumb crap he could bolt on his truck. I dont want a bunch of stoopid gauges for the damn thing. He laughed and said I know exactly what you mean. Sold me what I needed. He told me I can probably get by with the bags and brackets and source my own hardware. He said the hardware is all gr8 so i just took their install kit. If its cheesy ill make my own. Ill most likely sheath the airline in hose and seal the ends. Thats my new trick for lines.

Edit:might run bag psi through the edge cts.

My stock, daily driver trucks i dont ever mess with the suspensions. Chevy you gotta buy a one ton to get overloads. I did that because when I started the 6l was still in production so I got a duramax lbz, then the 6.4, so I got an lmm, then the 2011lml. It was a turd so a 2012 which was a great truck. Ran good and towed nice. Got a 14 in 14. Changed careers and sold the 14 in early 2015. For towing day in, day out hooked to a trailer 100% of the time, they were perfect.

I dont like it sagged past level any time. I don't like getting in mud or gravel and feeling the front end light. Which happens more than you think with lots of tongue weight. I slways had overloads for that reason. I think these airbags will be even better. I ordered some blocks, top plates and break lines from pmf to install it all. Ahould be super nice.

I've thought about bags but not sure which ones to go with.

I'm looking at getting bags for my truck. Tired of the squat when I have a good load behind it.

Ty, which bags did you end up getting from SD? I was on their website the other day and saw they had quite a few choices. Like you said, I don't need the high end stuff that doesn't give any better performance than the mid range products.

Im not sure. They were firestone load rite or something. 5k lb capacity. I have been getting so much stuff lately I don't even open packages. They were 264 dollars for just the bag kit. Im assuming its capable if you only care to manually air them up. Ill mount a gauge in cab but my truck is gutted tight now so the air compressor and instrumentation is completely unimportant.

I did purchase something firestone makes to air up the bags simultaneously but my dad said i may want independent control of each bag to address side to side ride height differences.

These brakelines are nicer than my truck! Smoke replacement for all four corners and the rear axle to the fitting on the frame.

I got a 3.5" block with airbag tangs welded on for an extra $70. I think the blocks were 135 (35 upcharge for 3.5") and 70 for the airbag tangs. God they're nice. They have a penetration through which you pass the ubolts to secure them. If you can see in the photos the block AND the top plates are adjustable if your axle doesnt seem centered.

Pmf=nice products for an affordable price. The value is outstsnding.
