I’m getting around too taking my turbo apart for a rebuild kit and also a 1.0 housing

This is what the backside of the stock wheel looks like….

Do you think this was caused by a bad bearing?

Funny, the bolts don’t show any wear…
As far as I can see.

I know you guys hate high resolution pictures but here is a close-up of the backside of the wheel.

I don’t see anything in the backplate that shows contact. Maybe a strange balance job. Bolt heads are clean, does it have a lot of play?

No
It doesn’t have noticeable play

Could something have possibly got sucked in ?
Looks like something got dragged slightly…

But that dent mark is very strange…

I know for a fact it’s never been apart and also I never drove the truck without an air cleaner

Very strange.

That dent mark would be where they removed material to balance it. I wouldn’t worry about that, however the scrape marks are odd. I would guess something got sucked thru at some point or it was installed funny or something like that, maybe a bolt was left loose and when they were checking it prior to it leaving the facility it was caught and remedied. Either way, if everything feels good, no in and out play, and minimal up and down, you should be good to go

I agree, Don't see anything wrong with that wheel.

The marks on the back are for balancing.

Nothing out of the ordinary there. Wheel still looks good. Other than the 1.0 housing, why the rebuild?

Rebuild/only because I had the truck apart for various other reasons
And also wanted to install the 360° bearing

But I have since changed direction due to some wrong parts arriving

Bought a KC turbo instead

It’s only money right?
