AFE Full Metal Power intake

Is anyone else besides weareweird69 running one of these. I saw this in his photos in Diesel Power and was interested to discuss it.

I was. Well I kinda still am. I dont have the stock turbo any more so I built my own intake tube. Heres what it looks like now.

When I took it apart to put this turbo on, I did notice that the cheap rubber boots that AFE uses in this kit were starting to break down. Thats my only complaint. Oh and Im not so sure the filter flows enough, but I do think it filters better than the oiled type.

Mine seems to be doing well. Other than the filter needs cleaned.

I knew a bunch of people were interested in them, but not sure if anyone else purchased one.

Glad I got mine when I did, they seem to be out of stock lol

I just want the tube, already got the filter. Anyone know if you can buy just the tube?

I take it the filter is not as long as the typical Tymar style?

I think its a little shorter Tom. I need to measure and see if an AFE big boost will fit in there.

purpleheart350, I have the tube from the kit. I was going to hang on to it incase I ever go back to a stock turbo but I highly doubt that will happen.

Warning:AFE intake boots crack

I have to very strongly support that comment. I nearly dusted the motor in the 96. Good thing I happened to check. Very poor material. I contacted AFE and they sent me a better one. One would think they wiould put a better quality one in the kit with what is riding on it staying together!
