AirDog 2 Fluctutating

airdogs are just to small for the flow and pressure we need.

New problem. Got another replacement, got it running, and now it won't hold pressure even under medium acceleration.

So I rechecked everything. I've reinstalled this thing at least 15 times. It's not that complicated, so IDK what's up.

Just drained the water separator to check and see if maybe i got some bad fuel. Drained it, and now no pressure whatsoever. WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANd I can't get in touch with AirDog. Sent about three text messages with the video, and called them and left a voicemail. No luck. I understand they are busy, but my truck has not ran in TWO WEEKS! I had to drop the rental car because I simply can't afford it anymore. I was racking up an extremely large tab, and now I'm having to bum rides. Needless to say, I'm less than pleased. I'm really about to send this thing back and demand my money back. But then again, I don't have an alternative. The AirDog 2 met my needs exactly. It's just not working.

Side Note: Is there any pumps out there that use the same quick connect fittings as the AirDog, so I could just mount it up and use the same fuel lines? I am NOT rerouting my lines. I have been through enough already.

So I have taken the stock regulator out of the system already. I called Airdog and talked with Kyle and he told me that the AD2 was not designed to be used without the stock regulator or a RR. I don't know what that has to do with my I get a different pressure rating each time I start the truck...

So I shouldn't have blocked my OEM regulator? I'm getting two different answers here...

I had an Airdog 2 on my 7.3. same issue. pressure would drop at WOT to like 30 psi.

Yep, I have to let out before the turbo even spools at WOT

Airdog told me to run their raptor pump in line with it to resolve the issue. no thanks....

Not sure on that Fuellab. havent researched it much yet...

Im having similar issues with my airdog. Pressure flux, different pressures everytime I start, fuel pressure drop during accel. AD has some terrible customer service to begin with if I knew it would be like this I would have gotten a fass pump. Some good troubleshooting they did give me the one time they replied was to pull the bolt on the dry side of the electic motor if you find oil or discoloration on the bolt its a electric motor issue. Mine is leaking fuel into the motor causing the problems. So they are sending me another AD I have a strange feeling it will not last long. Also here is a quote about using the AD2 as the only regulator in the fuel system straight from their tech rep. "We usually suggest to run the regulated return as to better control the pressures. Our pump was never designed to be the only regulator in the system and was only designed to regulate itself. Not to say it will not work but we never did the testing that way" Good luck I hope you get your issue resolved. Im going to put a regulated return on mine and the new pump if it still the fuel pressure is still fubar I plan to turn that pos into a boat anchor.

So should I try hooking up the OEM regulator again? Maybe removing the ball and spring and allowing the OEM regulator to regulate everything?

I'm ready to burn the POS pump. I've been under my truck for two weeks, day and night. The thing still don't work.

I check the electric motor and see if you have any of the signs or motor failure oil fuel seeping in causing the AD to not maintain its proper pressure. If the pump is good just go to an aftermarket reg return. I am going to do dozer. Ill let you know if it works for me. I dont know you exact set up but maybe you factor regultor is bad also or the spring is weak causing it to not build pressure properly.....

Okay, so I've been playing with the regulator. If I turn the screw to the left 1/10th of a turn, it drops to 49 PSI, if I turn it back up a 1/10th of a turn, it jumps back to 70-75. There is no in-between. Is this a regulator issue?

Are you talking about the regulator on the AD ? Are you doing it running or just with the key on ?

Yes. Running it with the key on, and engine on while driving.

The tan colored connector on the stock pump is disconnected correct ? You are using the AD as a stand alone pump correct ? I would pull the adjustment screw / regulator out and check for a broken o ring or one of the springs inside could be damaged or binding.

On the factory pump on the frame rail there is a tan/ light brown connector that has to be unplugged other wise that pump will continue to run on burn its self up and the start throwinf cel codes. Its the one on the fwd side at the btm or top i cant remember which
