Saturday i was at a grass drag race in a buddys feild. There was a few guys with diesel trucks running but it was mainly blown alcohol motors with paddle tires. So to keep up with these big block guys i tride leaving the starting line in 3rd gear with tow haul on and at about 20psi. Well after the first pass i noticed i was pushing coolent so i figured the head gasket was popped. So i figured whats the worse thats gonna happen. Well after pass 5 the trans let loose. I dont have forward or reverse. I pull my dipstick out and i see chuncks on the dip stick. Im only running an H&S with the 300hp tune and an EGR delete. Thought these trans were suppose to hold about 650hp. :wtf: ....... LOL

no they barely hold just a tune for that long if you drive the truck hard
and leaving in 3rd is a extremely bad idea and probly is what caused your trans to go up

She has been worked hard! Iv only put about 2,000 miles on the truck sense iv owned it. But its mostly seen drag racing and sled pulling. I guess ill be pulling the trans out this week. What should i get for convertor and trans rebuild to do it my self.

LOL why third? My trans has taken plenty of abuse. Time for you to go big and build it I guess.

Elite has alot of trick trans parts I would give them a call and they also run HD suncoast converters which is like craig said the only way to go.
