Hopped in the truck today and took off down the road. After about 1/2 mile the battery light came on so I pulled over and noted a very faint bearing type of roar from under the hood. Turned the truck off and back on and problem was still there for about 20 seconds and then it stopped and all has been fine since(knock on wood)!

I would put a meter on your batteries and check them for voltage with the truck off and then with the truck on. The voltage should be around 12v with the truck off and around 14v with the truck running. If the voltage is not higher when your truck is running, then your alternator chit the bed bud. Good luck. These trucks also are around the time when the factory batteries are starting to die as well if they have not been replaced yet. Good luck.

All is fine now, good voltage across the batteries and alternator. I have noticed my driver side batter had a lot of the blue/ white oxidation on the terminals. And I mean alot! Looked like a small ant hill. This has happened several times over the past year. Not the battery light issue but the powder on the terminals.
