Alternator ID

I am needing to replace my alternator and they are giving me 2 options, 125 amp or 200 amp. Is there a way to identify which one I have ? Dealer/vin?


My truck is a single alternator setup if it is a 120 amp is there any downside to upgrade unit to a 200 besides the price?

I'd go with the higher amperage. Everything on these trucks is electronic to begin with, not to mention most people have some sort of auxiliary lights, sound system, etc.

Go for the 200 amp

It should be the 200 amp. If your unsure call your local Ford dealer and the parts dept can look up what one you need by your trucks VIN #
