It's cam gear walk.
Worst news I could get.
Looks like I'm going to put it back into the garage for a while.
Life has been getting crazy and I just don't have the time to mess with it right now.
Forced future upgrade: Stg 1 cam.
Even though I have a spare 80k mi motor in the garage.
Don't know if I'm going to rebuild my current motor or swap the parts.
Either way the cam gear will be welded.
Maybe I'll have the time to pull the motor in the spring.

To cheer myself up I did something bad...

Lol I don't know about torture, just no time.
Hopefully soon.
I just need a vehicle that starts every time I turn the key and can drive cross country.
That's not this truck anymore.
Used to be but don't trust it.
My time is valuable and I have spent too much time chasing issues.
Spending time with my woman is more important these days.

I will say however...
Before the tach lost its mind on the run where the cam gear walked...
It was one hell of a hold the *** on power like I have never felt.

I'm wanting to turn my obs dually into a sleeper. I would like to see 800 hp. But the move to North Carolina in a few weeks comes first.

Or at least have a retaining clip front and rear of the gear...

Right, I've had a string of Cat C-9s come in 85% have been cam or lifter failures. Those dam cam retaining clips.
