Amsoil Filter

I installed a Amsoil bypass filter system on my last oil change and I am coming up on my next oil change (7500 miles later) and getting ready to change my oil again on my 2016 f350. On Amsoil web site it says there oil filter is good for 25k miles and on the 2 micron bypass filter they say 70k mile change intervals. Now I only had diesel VW's before this and I changed the oil filter every oil change, so I as wonder if anyone runs these filters longer then one oil change?

I believe the 70k Intervals is for the oil, not the filter.

The EA-series by-pass filters are good for 60k+ depending on the specific one you buy. I ran the EABP100 version on my 6.0L for my by-pass setup. I was driving a lot of miles so I would drain the filter every oil change, and change the filter once a year.

I just wish I could run the OEM primary filter on the Amzoil dual element by-pass set up they sell for the 6.7L trucks.

Any reason to get one of these for someone who will likely stay to 10k OCI (or less)? I have been thinking about one, only for longevity. Saw a compelling argument for if you extend to higher OCIs, but if not the particle size doesn’t reach the 2-5 micron range; so protection against something that doesn’t happen. Not trying to save money, just extend motor life.

What's the particulate size of soot? What size causes the most damage?

For me I'd expect that the by-pass element/set-up would require the motor to run 2-3 hours (???) before you could say it has filtered the entire volume of the system. So to catch the smaller stuff even with the long time to complete the system volume would be worth it for people who get into long runs of driving. Yes, we could do some math to get a better idea of the actual time required to filter the whole system.

I usually drive an hour at a time. The argument I saw against stated soot was submicron sized. If left in oil long enough (extended OCI) it would aggregate to large enough to be filtered. By no means am I saying this is correct, that is why I came here to ask. In the grand scheme of things the money for the system is nothing, but if it is zero benefit I’d rather buy beer or something else to piss away.
