Not to go too far off track but for those running an s300, how do u think an s363 with the 74 turbine and a gated .80 housing would flow? Too tight still? I will likley not go any bigger than 238/100 injectors. Currently running stg 1's

I don't think it's possible to go off track in this thread. :hammer:

The 364.5/74/.91 spools great on my 200/80s. Once I get my drive pressure gauge installed, I'll see if I need to swap in a 1.0 exh housing, but I doubt I'll need to. I can make a steady 7psi at 1500rpm in overdrive and I'm over 20psi before 2000rpm, keep in mind that I'm trying to keep the trans from downshifting. I don't see the need or the point for a smaller exh housing.

I don't think it would be a good choice with that small of a housing. The. 91 seems to be a good match for a quick spooling turbo.

The 1.0 spools a 66mm very quickly. And is 1:1 to ~40 psi And if anyone should want/need a quick spooling setup, it'd be someone like me with a 6 speed.

Thanks guys. Swaan, you are right. I found the .80 t3 gated housing for the 73 turbine s300.
I was just thinking that the larger wheelmay flow better and spool even faster then bleed off excess with the gate. Haha
But the .91 was my original choice.
I was going to build my own pipes and t3 flange mount.

I guess knowing what I've experienced with mine and how fast it comes up, and with talking with The Brad on his, I would be more inclined to go with a 364.5 or a 366.(Especially if you plan to put larger injectors in) The two of us have the 74mm turbine. For now while you're running the smaller injectors maybe use the .9 housing. And if you go to larger ones, you could just swap out for a 1.0. Which is a ~$150 swap vs a new super core and possibly a housing anyways.

Swaan also seems to have very good results with his 364.5, which I believe has the 68mm turbine with a 1.0.

I guess it all depends on how you want to use the truck.

South west power systems builds a .83 T4 gated housing for the s300 now. You can get it for both the 68mm and 74mm TW.

I would love to try one with a sxe with the 74mm turbine.
It would be great for guys with zfs. Your not going to have back pressure issues as the gate will take care of that.
Kinda the best of both worlds.

I would not go t3 on a 7.3. Just too small for all those cubic inces. Thats more for the cummins 5.9 guys.

I would/might try a .83 housing if it's available? Cheap and would be nice to see if there is any difference with my injectors.

I think for stock injectors the .83 on a sxe 74mm turbine would probley be fine. If your running a 175/80 injector or similar you deffinattly want the gated version from south west power systems.

Thanks for the heads up on that Swaan, that is very close to my goal of a fast responding setup that has enough flow up top without the drive pressure. I dont wana go much bigger than 238cc injectors.

Thats where i have wanted to be for a long time, that might just be the means to get me there. My d66 with the 1.0 runs decent but lags down low and is just lacluster.
At least with the .83 i can try it with my stg 1's and see how it goes. Id like to be able to build a little more down around 12-1400 rpm to clean up the low end smoke, then i can focus on tuning.
