Drivers side doesnt spray anymore...

I'm sure its a hose or something, and I'm sure its under the cowl... Never removed the cowl so...

Any help?

Happens every couple of months on my truck. Took a pin and poked it in the washer thingy on the drivers side below the wiper (little black plastic thing that the rubber hose from the reservoir hooks to) and got out a small piece of grit... worked like a charm. Seems to plug up fairly regularly though. Only the driver side has ever done it.

I have had the same problem on a few trucks.. I have someone in the cab pressing the sprayer and I take a shop vac to it and it will start spraying again.. I think pollen is the culprit..

Wel always take the cowl off, disconnect the hoses from the nozzles and washer bottle, blow compressed air through the lines, then the nozzles, backwards, so it blows whatever is stopping them up goes back out. This will always cure the problem

How do you take the cowl off?

Keep in mind I just had back surgery so I dont want to be crawling all over the place?

On my truck there was a few screws and that's it.
I had to replace one of the nozzles on my sprayer it was under 20 if I remember correct, parts guy at ford told me there's a little check ball in there that sometimes gets jammed up.

Take your wipers off(flip them up, and theres a lever you pull up at the base for each one) then theres a bunch of phillips head screws, take them out then its self explanitory from there.

I'm going to mess with it tomorrow... Looks like I need to fix the washer bottle now too...

Went to fill it up today, and $6 worth of fluid went leaking out the fender liner... Next question...

Does the washer bottle come out from the top or from the bottom? Looks like it will come out the fender liner?

think its gotta come out the bottom joe

also CLR works great on the nozzles if you can soak them for a bit, same deal with the tank and stuff, seams once they get plugged you really just need to flush the system out and start over.

like stated the cowl is pretty easy, wipers and some screws, you dont have to take them all the way off just far enough to pop them out and clean em

Looks like it would be a real pain to get it out the top. The battery bucket is right there.

I'll give her as much hell as I can tomorrow.

Its like 4 or 6 13mm bolts to pull the batt. Tray, and if youve ever pulled a finder skirt on a super duty, you would rather pull the batt. Tray, at least thats how I see it lol

I agree... there a total pain to pull!

Just lifting the battery doesnt sound fun.

Lol I saw your back pain thread. The least strain on your back would be getting up on the radiator support, and pulling up from there, vs standing on the ground pulling a 40 plus pound battery

I used to turn them around backwards and spray people when they jaywalked in front of the truck.

Don't know how to fix them though.

I replaced all the hose for the windshield washers a month or so ago. The nozzles clip into the cowl. To get the cowl off you have to take the wiper arms and the antenna off and there's a seal under the hood that needs to come off and then just some screws hold the pieces down. I could reach the bottom of my washer fluid bottle from my fender we'll without taking anything apart to put the new hose on. The hose clips into the bottom of the cowl pieces so be careful with the cowl (it's 2 pieces).

If its just the drivers side its probably the nozzle. Thats what mine was. I blew air through the segment of hose that goes from the pass side to the drivers side, and it was clear. Replaced the nozzle (~$10) and it fixed it. Takes a few minutes to swap.

If the pass side is fine its probably the nozzle. Just one hose feeds them both.
