I’m going through the engine wire loom cleaning it up, removing unused wires as well as building new loom and cables for 215 amp ambulance alternator prior to dropping the engine in. Was thinking of removing the glow plug relay from the top of the engine to get it out of the way and away from vibration and heat. The little bracket annoys me because it’s tangled up with HPO hose and wiring. Studying the EVTM (Ford manual) looks like nothing special. Just size the power wires accordingly. Thoughts?

Mines been that way for 10 years, no problems. This past winter I finally went to a new relay because the old one was getting lazy.

Hopefully the pics are right side up, lol.

I opened up the harness, and moved the appropriate wires over to the rh fender and retaped the harness. All the joints are soldered, and shrink tubed, never had any problems with corrosion.
Obviously, the vacuum airbox is gone, but the heater doors/vents all work as they should. My hubs have been switched to manual hubs, also. No idea if that would even matter.

I wouldn't think twice about moving it, makes the valley so much more accessible.

When I overhauled the engine in 2019, I cleaned up and did the minimalist thing to the wire harness. The valley on my engine is empty. When boondocking in the SW desert, the pack rats love it.
