If I remember right it’s on the side, towards the rear. Could be the top though, been awhile since I’ve pulled a stick out of a truck, not many of them running around out there

That's where I believe it is as well. Been a while for ne as well.
Also there will be a wire going to the transfer case to show 4-hi and 4-low.

Iirc, it's just behind the bellhousing, but I don't remember LH or RH.
