ok over a month ago i ordered some stuff from dozers diesel, one of the things i ordered was the upgraded fuel spring, well after screwin me around for a month or so he finally sends me one but it wasnt what i wanted it was one from gillette diesel and when i questioned him about it he says its supposed to be better than the upgraded blue spring. well after reading some information on it this spring jacks the pressure up over 90 psi.... im not too sure but im thinking that its too high, i thought ideal was around 60-70... can anyone confirm this? ive been holding off on puttin it in till i found out for sure.

Offered a refund and made sure the customer was satisfied, all other parts were delivered in a timely manner. My personal fault for the time delay as we were waiting on more to come in. The ford spring unfortunately comes in the 70.00 kit. The gillette spring will read 90 but can be shortened for less psi. We sell the Gillette spring and have had no problems thus far. Once again if you are dissatisfied please contact us or Gillette ASAP for a refund. We also sell a fuel pressure tester for the test port on the fuel bowl which would allow you to tune your spring to your desired psi. If you are dropping fuel psi with the stock spring or blue spring without a regulated return it is beneficial.

Thanks-
JJ

i told you i wasnt happy at all about the whole situation but there wasnt much that could be done since it had already shipped and considering that a return would have only set me back further (probably another month) but i basicly took your word (my stupidity) and was willing to give it a try since it was supposed to be better since i never heard of this gillette spring before and couldnt say one way or the other good or bad about it. so after a lil research i think ill be sending it back. as far as the price im fine with the 70$ so its your fault for quoting me for the wrong part. ill give you a call.

You ordered our upgraded spring. It was explained in detail that it was not the blue spring from ford, but an upgraded spring that maintained more psi.The Ford Kit is wasteful as you are paying 70.00 for a 20.00 spring. Once again, I have no problem refunding you the 20.00 if you wish to return it. Let me know what I can do. I personally apologize if there was any miscommunication, I ensure you I will make it right.

I ran the gillette spring for over a year no problem. Anyone know how much pressure is on the other side of the oring that that spring is supposed cause problems with? My fuel pressure gauge was pegged at 100 psi but I also did notice better throttle response. You could cut a coil of that spring if you are scared of it. I didnt. I just ran it the way it was. I have heard people being scared and saying 100 psi is too much better never heard or seen anyone have trouble. I have emails from Gillette saying that he has a even firmer spring in his daily driver that the pressure is at 120 psi on stock fuel system with no problems

We have several customers using our upgraded feed lines or just upgraded banjos with the gillette spring with 155s- 190 75's putting down 540+ RWHP with no psi loss

I just can't figure out why the Forums have become a place to air dirty laundry for all to see. Once the OP got other people's opinions that caused him to reconsider the original purchase, which he should have done prior to the purchase, simply give the vendor a call and say its coming back. Where's the problem in that?

I've also heard that 100psi is too high, but never heard anyone have any problems with the Gillette spring. I've actually thought I might buy one and grind it down a touch (maybe around 85-90 psi) and see how it does. I'm running the stock fuel system with the exception of the 6.4 banjo's. My injectors are stock as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the worry with the extra pressure blowing o-rings on the injectors? My blue spring from ford holds about 69psi at idle and drops to around 55 at WOT. I know there is no problem with these pressures, but if I upgrade to a Pmax and 175's would the extra pressure have any advantage?

Sorry about the derail, but as long as this thread is up I figure maybe some questions could be answered and have a positive spin put on it.

Yes...the concern is lowing out the O-rings. Everybody and their mother, including Ford, will tell you that you don't want to be over 75psi. On the other hand, Gillette stands behind their spring mod so go figure.

I believe the X-factor in a stick upgrade is the stock fuel pump. It holds pressure for some and not others. My PowerMax and 190 over 75 combo is happy with my stock pump. But I'm also saving some coin for a regulated return system just to be absolutely safe.

anybody worth a chit can find the Ford spring from Ford without the whole regulator top

90 psi put his system fuel injection system in jeopardy thats way to high

I know where I won't be shopping

Just so I'm clear here, the customer ordered a blue upgrade spring from you but you sent him a gillette piece that has to be modified to keep pressures in check? Sounds like he wanted a simple drop in, hassle free piece and now he's got a headache. Don't you think it would be best to get a "$70" spring from ford and send it to him like he wanted originally?? Not rocket science honestly.

No...he ordered our upgraded spring, which was explained is not the blue ford spring, but is the Gillette spring. As also explained zmann the Gillette spring will hold better psi in the event you are dropping psi with the blue ford spring. Once again, happy to refund the customer in full for the 20.00 spring.

We stand behind our product as well as our distributors and would not market the product if it negatively affected anything. This spring has made dyno proven power on a stock fuel system. No o ring failures . It is a proven product that has effectively put down 544/977 on dunbars with 190/75s and an elite charger. It is forsale btw.

Call us if you have any more questions that need clearing up. There is nothing wrong with the spring.
Thanks

your wrong... i ordered the upgraded blue spring. i wasnt informed of the gillette spring untill after it was shipped from.. which you had to know that since i had mentioned that i never heard of the gillette spring untill you informed me you was shipping a gillette spring from utah, that was when it was explained, not at the time of the order. i simply wanted a drop in upgraded spring... either way its coming back, i dont feel comfortable using it otherwise this thread wouldnt be here. i dont order sh*t that i know nothing about. end of story, my questions have been answered, safe or not it wasnt what i ordered.
