I have a 2009 f250.. My automatic headlights were working fine. When it got dark outside my headlights would automatically come on and when it was light outside they would turn off. I then got plug and play hids. The automatic headlights worked for awhile..then one day I got in my truck and it was 1:00pm and my lights were on in broad day light. I tried replacing the mater headlight switch on the dash by the driver side door but it still didn't fix the problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Could it be the sensor or the security box behind the back seat?? Thanks

You don't have a bunch of stuff up on the dash covering the eye ball do you..

Might want to clean the eye with a rag and water to see if that helps.. Like any other thing, the sensors can go but I can honestly say I have never replaced one in 32 years of owning Fords...

I dont think its the sensor..i think there may be a short somewhere but has anyone else had this issue where your lights stay on no matter if it is night or day when the switch is on automatic?
