Rather than open a new thread, I figured Id get a quick opinion from the 15-16 guys who have certain components removed. Id really like to capitalize on todays black friday deals and get some of this garbage removed. I had my first regen yesterday with this truck and it made me cringe.

So, Im trying to get opinions on the GH tune or what is now alberta speed tunes with SCT X4 and CTS2 monitor. I had GH on my 11 and loved it so Im leaning that way. Didnt know if Matt over there had the 15-16s dialed in yet. Has anyone been running these on the 15-16s? Also, Im trying to decide if it would be better to wait for the S-partan nDash tuner. So if anyone has run both the new s-partan stuff and the alberta speed stuff, please chime in!! Thanks guys!

I saw this color at the dealership today...absolutely amazing with direct sunlight. Best of luck with that beauty.

Thanks man! I agree, first time I saw this color was darker out and thought it was more maroon/burgundy and was confused why they called it bronzefire. But then I saw it in the direct sunlight and dang, what a difference! Was burnt orange and fell in love with the color!

Also, got on the phone with Mike at No Limit and he got me all squared away with the goodies. Thanks again for everything Mike!!

I decided to go with the SCT and G-head tunes with a CTS2 monitor. Sounds like theyve got the 15-16 tunes pretty dang refined. Hope this thing runs great with these tunes and my truck doesnt have that dreaded 4-5 squeal I keep hearing about with different tunes. Its one thing to remove parts and tune on a used truck, but its DEFINITELY a lot more nerve racking doing this stuff on a truck that has 250 miles on it. Heres to hoping everything turns out ok!

Also, anyone with 15-16s that have done EGR ******/blocker plates when the trucks are close to new, did you still have a problem with those two bolts on the exhaust manifold breaking? I broke one on my 2011 with 40,000 miles on it and had to replace the exhaust manifold. Just dont want that to happen again thats for sure!

I did mine at 3000 miles and had no problems with the bolts. They should be fine. Didn't even have to soak them in anything. But if you want piece of mind soak them with wd-40 or something similar a day or so before you remove them.

I've been soaking mine for 2 weeks now with WD40 and still have another week to go before it comes out. Overkill, but I don't want any problems.

And damn you for buying this color dude. Dealer by me has a '16 Bronze Fire Platinum that I can't stop looking at. If it was another LB I probably would have traded mine already. LOL

Mine had 103K before I tuned mine, then it was at 120K before I actually took the e-gr off/did the turbo swap. I soaked every bolt after I got home while the engine was hot, waited about 30 minutes, soaked them again, then soaked them again 30 minutes later. Everything came off very easily for me.

Beautiful truck! Glad Cat put a stop gap measure on your job situation.... That's always comforting!!

Wd40 isn't exactly a penetrating oil per say. It doesn't really creep.

Oils like AreoKroil or Kroil Oil from kano labratories would really help you alot for that application of a bolt designed to expand and contract with heat load.

Even the ol knockerloose from Napa is a better suit than wd40.

This might help you. Some Napa stores Cary Kroil.

Well mine is no where near as nice as a platinum, but that bronze fire sure has a way of drawing you in. You should just get it already!! haha

Kroil is the only stuff I use! I swear by that stuff. Its helped to break some pretty tough stuff free. However, when I did my 2011 with 40,000. I did soak those bolts down as well in Kroil two nights in a row and then tried the next morning while the engine was cold. But one of them still broke. Its almost like occasionally some peoples bolts are overtorqued from the factory. Crazy how some bolts come out so easy with no problems and others break one or both of them. Doesnt seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. But I guess even with it being new, Ill start soaking them now and hopefully will have everything by this weekend.

So outside of everyone soaking them, have most of you done it engine warm/hot or cold?
