Why would you need to run 35psi with 155/stock nozzles? The more boost you run the more drive pressure you will have even if you have a good ratio..... I don't know why people get stuck on boost as a sign of power. I've made more power at 25lbs of boost on a 6 liter than at 30 with a stock charger.

Good point. One of my tunes only makes 29 lbs of boost while another makes 34 lbs and the one that makes 29 lbs runs 3 tenths faster at the track! Every time.

Why is this setup running so hot? I need an explanation LOL

You only need enough airflow to consume the fuel you are injecting..... any more boost than that just makes more backpressure on a vgt.

Borsky, I think you should give Matt at Gearhead a call. He can tune that charger and your ported intake very nicely. I'm speaking from experience

The Wot egt's are 1650-1700 with 28 psi, only od with-locked tq, boost is 35 psi and egt's are like 1300. So that kinda rules that out. Would be nice if people would read the whole thread prior to commenting.

I tried Matt's tunes in the past, and thy worked good with the stock trans, but when I upgraded to an NADP, he could not tune the trans, it shifted so hard it took out the LP oil pump on a 2nd-3rd shift. that cost a grand. He would not send me a tune without the lock up so I moved on. if I try a new tune it will be innovative x street that is what NADP recommends for the trans. I will try Tony's pmax tune next but I could see 1600 egt's with it too, and its not a full fuel tune.

I have not had an opportunity to tinker lately because my wife delivered our twin girls a month early so been kinda busy...

Update: loaded Tony's xtreme x this morning and put a couple hundred miles on. Cruising at 75 mph egt's are about 830F idle egt's will drop to 350 quickly. Wot egt's from a roll will still hit 1600 by 80 mph and up 1675 was the highest I seen on a long pull. I think part of the reason its cooler is i had tony make the upshifts at 3800 instead Of 4000 rpm. Another thing I noticed is that Tony's tune needs more throttle input to get max PW 2.7. Max boost in OD is 29, max boost a WOT is 28 with 30 ebp, much better IMO, I like this tune better its not so on/off. Smoother power. Although the looney FEELS like it pulls a little harder could just be smoother.

ICP was 4.2-4.3 with the valve @ 82%. I always thought this tune was not a full fuel tune, but turns out I was used to the looney and wasn't using the throttle to its full capacity...

Some more numbers are mass air flow peak was about 430 g/s, also rolled across the scales at 9300 lbs with a full slip off fuel on the back, also elevation is about 1800' intake air temp was 58F.

This turbo really shines down low compared to the pmax batmowheel combo, it'll spool up nicely at 1500 rpm. I was expecting more on top with this turbo, but I got it where I use it more. So I am happy.
